PROJECTS

We’ve been involved with successful projects across every facet of the Data Science industry, our comprehensive services are supported by a vast number of happy clients and complimented by real hands-on experience. Our services are bespoke, with each project requiring a different tailored solution. These differences, we believe, have shaped the way we do business, and have allowed us to position ourselves as a robust data science problem solver. We ask the right questions so that our solutions best align with your business objectives, ensuring success even when our job is done.

Here are some recent examples:

Vehicle Photo Classification Model

Vehicle Photo Classification Model

The Challenge: A motor vehicle insurer needed their clients to send through photos of the vehicles they want to insure. The photos then needed to be manually validated in terms of orientation and quality.

The Solution: Using machine learning, we developed a model to automatically validate and classify vehicle photos. This automated model showed a 90% accuracy - meaning that insurer call centre staff only had to manually classify the remaining 10% of Photos. This led to huge efficiency gains for the client.

Insurance lead generation optimisation

Insurance lead generation optimisation

The Challenge: A lead generation client in the insurance industry was looking for a way to increase their profitability by applying additional insights to their existing data.

The Solution: We developed a model to determine the optimal allocation of leads to insurance clients, resulting in the highest chance of the lead to convert and therefore increasing the profit margin per lead.

Free text data classification

Free text data classification

The Challenge: A mining client had large datasets of free text within their safety and sustainability data, which is generally hard to analyse.

The Solution: By applying modern NLP techniques, we were able to show clear patterns in their data. This allowed our client to implement meaningful measures and improve their safety standards

Integrated mining value chain control room

Integrated mining value chain control room

The Challenge: A mining client was commissioning a new mine and approached us to assist with designing and developing an integrated control room. This control room needed to provide the management team with an end-to-end view of the mining value chain, from marketing to mining and processing the final product.

The Solution: We engaged with the relevant stakeholders across the value chain and designed the KPIs and visualisations the client needed on the integrated control room displays. This design also informed the data integration requirements, allowing us to develop their data warehouse used for all data analytics and data visualisation at the mine.

Mining operation management platform

Mining operation management platform

The Challenge: A mining client was using Excel spreadsheets to manage their mining operations. Their data was sitting throughout the organisation, which made it impossible for them to perform any meaningful analysis and decision making.

The Solution: We helped the client transition from their Excel spreadsheets into a fully integrated online management platform. The platform gave them a consolidated view of the whole mining value chain, providing them with a single source of the truth, and the ability to perform meaningful analysis and decision making.

Mining process control system

Mining process control system

The Challenge: A mining client was using value driver trees to help identify and reduce the variability of certain production measures. Their challenge was to provide control room personnel with a user-friendly interface to communicate production measures that were out of control..

The Solution: We developed a web-based application that distilled the outputs from the value driver tree analysis into a meaningful and understandable format for control room personnel. This application was further integrated with their action management platform, allowing management to measure and track the ability of the production teams to respond to the actions assigned to them.

Safety system data migration

Safety system data migration

The Challenge: A mining client was transitioning from their current safety system to a new safety system.

The Solution: We assisted with the turnkey data migration activities including data mapping, data extraction, data cleaning, data loading and data validation. The project spanned multiple geographic regions and time zones.

Safety leading indicators model

Safety leading indicators model

The Challenge: Safety is a very important aspect in the daily production activities for mining companies. When a safety incident occurs, the data usually shows that most incidents could have been avoided had more care been taken.

The Solution: We developed a model that used current and historical data to help identify workplaces, equipment and personnel that are operating in a high-risk manner. This provided the safety personnel with a tool to identify and put in place pro-active interventions before possible safety incidents could occur.

Automated account recon system

Automated account recon system

The Challenge: A retail client was relying on manual business processes to perform their account reconciliations. Due to the complexity of the business, this process generally ran late and was very hard to track and manage.

The Solution: We implemented an automated solution that greatly simplified the recon process, while also providing management with clear visibility. This allowed management to measure and track progress, so that they could respond to issues and delays affecting the outcomes.

Group buying platform

Group buying platform

The Challenge: A pharmaceutical distributor wanted to create a group buying platform where they could offer lower prices to their clients by negotiating bulk deals with manufacturers.

The Solution: We developed a web-based platform with pricing and stock data from over 300 pharmacies that they now use in their negotiation processes with the various manufacturers.

Retail strategic modelling and planning

Retail strategic modelling and planning

The Challenge: A retail client required a strategic model to help them with their business strategy development. Their Excel-based models didn’t give them the agility to run multiple scenarios in order to make effective decisions.

The Solution: We developed an integrated web-based model that leveraged their financial systems and allowed them to generate and compare scenarios in a very short space of time.
